Eripoto Safe House
Eripoto protects and empowers women and girls in northern Tanzania through safety programs, mentorship, and a safe house for girls fleeing forced marriage and gender-based violence.
Ilboru Special Needs School
OBA has partnered with Ilboru for over a decade to provide education, classrooms, and dormitories for children with intellectual and physical disabilities in Arusha.
Kafika House
Kafika House provides a home for children receiving rehabilitation for surgically correctable disabilities, including cleft lip and palate, clubfoot, and burn scar contractures.
MaaSAE Girls Lutheran Secondary School (MGLSS)
MGLSS has provided secondary education to more than 1,300 daughters of the Maasai and other semi-nomadic communities in its 30-year history, with most graduates going on to college.
OBA has constructed 5 two-classroom school buildings in different communities in the Androy Region (Deep South). Each school has an office, a rain catchment system and a water tank, and is fully furnished with desks and chairs. Every month, OBA pays for 2 full-time teacher salaries at each school (10 total), purchases school supplies such as notebooks and pens, and provides school lunches for roughly 3,000 students in total.
Periodically, OBA makes investments in well digging and water pumps, reforestation and agricultural projects, and upgrades to kitchen and dining supplies. The Deep South of Madagascar has been experiencing a catastrophic draught since 2020 that has made local livestock and agricultiural farming extremely difficult.
